a repair

My Nikon D7000 needs another circuit in order for the rear multi-selector button to operator left to right and top to bottom. I need a 40 watt soldering iron to melt the soldered wires. A friend has one. He will deliver it this week. Hopefully I can install a new circuit (flex cable), which will allow me to adjust the camera settings using the multi-selector. I cannot format the SDcard because the multi-selector will not move up and down the menu.
