Nevis from Spean Bridge

I can't remember off hand the statistic about the number of days per year the summit of Ben Nevis is clear, but it isn't very many. The light looked amazing as we passed through Spean Bridge, so we stopped at the Commando Memorial to take in the view. While we were there a posse of 11 Lotuses pulled in (extra). Cue much hilarity with some of the older passengers getting hauled out...

Sine the last time we were there, there is a new garden of remembrance. Many plaques, crosses and photos of fallen commandos. Some from the Second World War, some who have dies as old men many years after their service. But too many who have died in active service this century. Quite poignant when wars are far away and you can almost forget about the horrors going on in far off parts of the world.
