The shows are leaving

Went down to the baths to meet friends for our usual Saturday* cuppa and had to play "in and out those dusty bluebells" between the big carnival rides which were all packed up ready to move on.

Yesterday was Kirkintilloch gala** day. I didn't go.

But the odd thing about the shows and trucks and stuff being still there - they normally leave in the middle of the night. Much to the disgust of local people trying to sleep!


* yes, I know today is Sunday but none of us could make it yesterday.

** I read an interesting article recently about the origins of the word Gala but 1) I have forgotten where and 2) I have forgotten what it said.
