Beehive Ginger

Glad there was a label because I certainly wouldn't have known what this most interesting looking plant was but it certainly looked like a beehive.

The botanical name on the label was 'Zingiber Spectabile'. Further info said it was a very attractive large ginger grown for its flower. After looking at some images on Google and I don't think the plant in the Botanic Gardens glasshouse is fully in flower yet. I'll try and visit again before I go on holiday.

A big thank you to my fellow Blippers who helped to put my blue poppy on the popular pages.
