My Favourite Weeds

Queen Anne's Lace is widely regarded as an invasive weed, and it certainly does a good job of rampaging through my flower beds here in Connecticut.  Many hours have been spent ripping it out from around the stems of other more desirable horticultural bits and bobs flowering in the garden.  But I don't mind its lacy umbels nodding along the edges of the fields, or over near the barns -- I think they are really pretty in the right "neighbourhood."

Today is another scorcher.  In the extra, you can see that Mabel finds this heat pretty much as unbearable as I do!
