Boulmer Tractor

Beautiful Boulmer

We had a lovely 12 Km walk starting at Boulmer today. This was a rusting tractor that has seen better days - but seemed to frame the blue sea and the small boats moored in the bay. A flock of birds took fright when I took the photo adding to the overall effect. The weather was glorious, blue sky and 18 degrees.

There were many photo and blip opportunities today with beautiful views of the coast, sands and basalt intrusion cliffs. Even with Dustanburgh castle in the distance.

We were even buzzed by a Vulcan bomber (maybe the very last one ever flying) who decided to go very low, roar loudly and executed two high speed tight turns of RAF Boulmer airbase. I had some pix of this - but due to the distance of the aircraft shot decided to show the tractor today.

It was so tranquil - not any sound of cars, just the sea and the waves crashing into the bays and the volcanic rocks. There were lots of Herons, cormorants, gulls, and starlings etc. Very few people really -which for the 'anti-socialists' was great - just deserted golden sand beaches with the odd daft dog dipping in the waves. Sugar sands was fantastic as usual.

On the way home was passed by a line of Red Arrows all swooping into land.

A day of planes and birds, sea and sand, rocks and recreation.
