Sgwarnog: In the Field

Invader

This Speckled Wood didn't take too kindly to having its leaf invaded by a soldier beetle; it took flight.

I popped out for half an hour at lunchtime - it was dull but warm. Rummaging in the undergrowth on and around campus revealed just one Small White, one Large Skipper and this Speckled Wood, but it had been more than a week since I'd seen any butterflies so that seemed quite a haul.
