Rebuilding

Mum is making progress with her alterations, especially considering that she's having to hand sew and that her hands are very shaky due to her overactive thyroid. We have her hospital appointment with the endocrinologist a week on Thursday, so let's hope they can sort her out with some medication to control it.

I popped out during the morning to have a mini-valet done on the car and then get some trailing and upright petunias for the two concrete urns (one pictured in today's photo).

When I got back my sister had arrived, and after an early lunch at The Exchange we got into our gardening clothes and set about making the main section of the back garden look much better. She's coming over again on Sunday so that we can remember our dear Dad together on Father's Day, and rather fittingly for that day we hope to tidy the "secret garden" beyond the archway of roses and jasmine which he planted. That area was just a muddy mess when he and Mum moved here, and he worked hard on it. I feel close to Dad when I work in the garden, and use the tools he left hanging up neatly in the garage. Hopefully I'll get the six geraniums planted in their terracotta pots in the front garden tomorrow, if it's not too hot.
