A passion

Stirling University was holding a very innovative "European Awareness Day" and as part of it they showcased one of their Erasmus funded collaborative projects called "Europe - What a Passion !"

Working with other institutions and led by an Italian academic this seeks to inform and take forward a debate on the future of Europe for its citizens by means of on line courses, publications and the most unusual stage performance I have ever seen - a mixture of academic lecture, integrationist polemic, dance and popular song loosely fadhioned on a fictional love affair.

It was followed by discussion and questions to a panel of which I was part.

The whole thing was a a unique testimony to the range of views about the EU that are currently being debated across the continent and which are vastly different from. and vastly more stimulating than , the sterile, negative insular messages stemming from the chaos which presently passes for a government in London.
