Wild horses and ancient stones - Hustai National Park

These horses are direct descendants of the ancestors of the modern domestic horse. They carry 2 extra chromosomes and so can't breed with the domestic species. They became extinct in the wild, but have been re-introduced to their natural habitat from successful breeding programmes in zoos around Europe.
