Mother and Babies

The ducklings were trying to shelter from the 25 degrees sunshine this afternoon under mummy duck.   I don't know why she didn't take them under the trees, perhaps she felt safer in the open.   Earlier they were skimming across the pond trying to catch insects, so lovely to see.   I think she has about six or seven, I wonder how many will be left in the morning!!  None of the ones I blipped in April survived, so sad but that's how nature is.
