Die Dreigroschenoper

A day filled with culture. Museums and museums of it. We have stood in awe in the recreation of Babylon in Berlin, in wonder at some of the art of Islam and so much more besides. The Museumsinsel in Berlin is great, you would need at least a week to do it justice. Probably longer.

After a very busy day, we went to the Berliner Ensemble to watch Die Dreigroschenoper (better known in the UK as The Threepenny Opera). A three hour performance in German passed in no time. It was one of the best theatre experiences of my life.

These two are Macheath and Tiger Brown. They were just amazing. And if you think you don't know any of this, you' ve probably heard the song Mack The Knife. That comes from here but it's called Mackie Messer.

Berlin just got better, and i already thought it was amazing.
