Art in Juneau, Alaska

Flew to Juneau today and had time to wander the town full of jewelry and souvenir shops and 3-4 cruise ships.. ( blocking the views of course) . Typical mizzle weather so we enjoyed a good coffee shop and the new Sealaska cultural center with very impressive art of the 3 indigenous groups - Haida, Tlingit and tsimshian. The top is Tlingit artist Preston Singletary'a glass pieces in a typical traditional NW clan style house. Below ( because I couldn't decide) At the state museum was an excellent traveling show of "Decolonizing Alaska". This piece , "ectoplasmic Salmon Settee #1" of carved red cedar, acrylic paint, cedar bark, neoprene fishing line, polyurethane, diamond plate aluminum and deer toes with work from all 3 groups and Ray Troll a Ketchikan artist, portrayed more contemporary approaches. ( the show was based on getting away from what people expect from native artists )
Enjoyed the day.
Tomorrow we meet H's brother and s-I-l and travel to Glacier Bay for a few days .. Hoping for lots of wildlife! I know that our national parks don't have wifi ( and we are staying in the NP lodge... Brother in law's bucket list) ) so not sure if my phone will blip.
