The Right Side of the Lights

I haven't stood on this side of the lights for ages but after watching an incredibly creative and energetic one-man mime show from a distance of ten feet I couldn't resist crossing the line after the applause had died and the actor had left the stage. Dd and I met through theatre improvisation and ran our own theatre group for a few years. It all came flooding back tonight, especially the need to have confidence in yourself and your material in the early moments as the audience gets to grips with the style and subject matter of the piece. Our man tonight was the bravest of the brave and pulled off a wonderful feat.
