Salvage from the Wreckage

Bar humbug

Sunday!
Very hot. Got the compulsory run in early. Then C and I walked to H's apartment. There was a police van parked outside and, as we walked up to the 6th floor, we passed les flics on their way down. They seemed to be lost. Made a list of small jobs that the apartment needs - maybe on the next visit? But I'm not sure that Eurostar would let me bring electric drills and saws and stuff through...
Then we had to hurry back to our apartment where C's brother, P, was expected (the amount of money that family saved on name tags...). In the end, P brought Mrs P aka K, his youngest son, S, and S's girlfriend, E. so, with H, C and, of course, I, we were quite a crowd at La Cantine for lunch.
After lunch, we said goodbye to the letters and went to a Broquante (car boot sale) near the canal. Some really bad records on sale. Then, feeling hot, H took us to a cool bar, the Comptoir Generale. Which was so cool that it didn't announce its presence in any way. If you didn't know about it, you weren't cool enough for it. It was a huge space, randomly decorated with retro clutter. But the overall effect was pretty good.
We finished up the day with another picnic at the Parc de Belleville.
A good day.
