Looking for the beauty

Quarry Bank, Wilmslow

After a busy half-term of lots of school work, I decided to have Saturday off completely and Chris, Dad and I headed to Quarry Bank, a National Trust property that had been featured on one of the recent Alan Titchmarsh programmes. I'd wanted to visit since seeing it on the tele but hadn't quite appreciated that it was as far as it was!

It's a great place to visit. The mill itself is in fantastic condition and there are lots of working machines so that you can see how material was made more than a hundred years ago. The noise in the one room was intense and there were only a few machines working. It was easy to appreciate the poor working conditions that were around at the time.
We also had a good walk around the beautiful garden where we could hear the noises from Manchester Airport, Unfortunately we didn't get to see all of it as we had a long journey home but I'd definitely recommend it for a family day out and some great pictures.
