Beautiful Cotswolds - not really!

It looks so lovely, green, sheep grazing. Truth is that this is the landfill tip in Gloucester. Beneath these sheep there are countless thousands of tons of rubbish disposed of by generations of humans. The current landfill is off to the right and out of sight due to the landscaping of the older sites.
Thank goodness most councils, Gloucestershire is apparently one of the best, have good recycling programmes. Each week they empty the recycling boxes of card, paper, cardboard, cans, glass, all plastics (recent development). Landfill and Garden waste are collected on alternate weeks.
I was down there today as we'd cut down a lot of the Elaeagnus.
Many people in the UK were up in arms about a fortnightly rubbish collection and you can understand it for families when they have babies etc. but I think most have adapted.
We have less than half a wheely bin each fortnight as we are mostly on our own and most of our stuff goes into the recycling, F.M.i.L. throws nothing away! HAHAHAHAHAHA
