The House By The Thames

This is one of the gardens I visited yesterday. It's at the end of Cardinal Cap Alley, one of the narrowest streets in London, and is just next door to the Globe Theatre (which I've included as an extra here).

I discovered during my visit that Gillian Tindall has written a history of this house and the people who lived there, called The House By The Thames. So today, as it's too hot to head up to London for more gardens, I've downloaded her book onto my Kindle and am enjoying a good read.
