This beautiful butterfly basks in the winter sunshine before departing to places unknown.

Only two more to emerge from their chrysalis and my care is complete - probably until the next cycle begins after winter.

The extra photo is the same butterfly - showing the colours on wings spread wide as they absorb the warmth of the sun.
