I do remember when we made trunk calls if the number wasn't local...

That was back in the day when communication wasn't so common, no personal phones, no sat nav etc. I still remember the day when a lorry stopped to ask me directions. Several turns, roundabouts and even the town's only set of traffic lights got a mention.
