Balloon Flight

This Staycation lark is great fun!

Today we enjoyed our Christmas present; a Balloon Flight over Bath.

The experience includes inflating and deflating the Balloon. It was superb!

Also, we bumped into the actor, David Haig twice! He's performing in Racing Demon in Bath Theatre Royal. We saw him eating a pizza outside one of the nearby restaurants in the afternoon and then again wandering around the city later in the evening. Billy no Mates on both occassions!

There was no wind so we only travelled about 2 miles! And we struggled to get height for the most part but everyone in Bath seemed delighted to see the Balloon fly over. People were waving and calling from their gardens, windows and streets and they must see lots of balloons.

As we were skimming treetops on our approach to land, someone thought we were about to crash and called 999. The Fire Engine struggled with the narrow country lanes yet reached us within minutes of our landing (very impressive) and 5 fully kitted out firemen ran into the field. The farmer wasn't expecting us either, nor the sheep, geese and cows!

Our flight experience finished about 10pm and we hoped to use our Cafe Rouge (Tesco Clubcard Boost) Vouchers but they and almost all restaurants were closed. So we,  like Dave, had a walk around the city instead and then when home to feta and rocket wraps and giant chocolate buttons straight from the fridge.
