Chora, Amorgos

This is the village in which we are staying, seen from the old mule path which was once the main thoroughfare connecting Chora - the old capital of the island, in the mountains - to Katapola - the port on the coast, a couple of miles or so to the north.

Today we walked the mule path and went for a swim at Maltezi, a sandy beach twenty minutes walk out of Xilokeratidi (a "suburb" of Katapola.
There are still quite a few spring wildflowers left - rock roses, alliums and flowering herbs. On the walk we saw many lizards and a water trough full of frogs.
