Valletta

J and I woke up this morning to a miserable day. However, we persevered and took the bus to Valletta the capital of Malta. Had a quick look around and then went for lunch in a beautiful piazza. As we were finished up the heavens opened again and another incredible storm ensued. I have never seen so much water falling from the sky - so much that the restaurant we were eating at flooded completely.

When the rain finally stopped we ran for the bus home - as did every other day tripper in Valletta. Luckily we did manage to get onto the first bus that came but we were unable to get a seat. This would have been fine if the bus has taken the timetabled hour long journey time - however, it was three hours before we were finally back in Mellieha ...
