A Grand Day Out ... to The May Isle

So many photographs today it's hard to choose but these cute little guys win hands down today. They are just captivating to watch. There are 46,000 pairs of puffins on the island but although I saw a great many I don't think I saw them all.

It's breeding time for the sea birds but the only ones who cause a problem are the Arctic Terns and it's not their fault .... walking up from the landing stage we have to walk through the nesting sites and that upsets the birds. They will dive bomb you so it's best to keep your head protected. Once you're through the nesting area all is well. I just spotted one tern with chicks.
