Espresso

Collected our new espresso coffee machine from John Lewis in Blue Water this afternoon.

Originally we were against purchasing a Nespresso machine as their coffee pods are not biodegradable, and Nestle is not the most ethical company. However, we were assured by the very knowledgeable assistant that the used pods are now recyclable . She did not tell us,though; that as the Nespresso patent is expired you can buy clone pods at supermarkets at a much lower cost. Whether the coffee is as good remains to be found out.

So I came away from John Lewis with a Krups nespresso coffee maker, ten free pods, two bags for recycling and a little book, but no instructions. I am sure it's not difficult to use.

I do enjoy a very strong espresso so watch this space.
