The Boys are Back

A day out to Gloucestershire today to meet up with my cousin - we only seem to get to meet at funerals these days so decided it was time to rectify that.  She lives in Wokingham and we are in the Midlands, so a trip down and along respective motorways found us meeting up at Dyrham Park.  SHH and I were a little early and we decided to walk down to the house through the parkland in the hope of seeing some of the fallow deer.  We were so lucky!  They were all sheltering under the trees and the bucks were in no hurry to move at all.  The youngsters are obviously beginning to jostle for position in the herd and were pushing each other around and tangling pubescent antlers.  Fantastic to see!

We had a lovely day talking and wandering - a bit like a Blipmeet really except I was the only one using a camera!

We didn't go in the house today, but we will go back as it is such a beautiful place.

Pigeons only doing pigeon things, so the deer won pride of place today!
