Here's One, Grandad

So, as the weather forecast said rain or showers pretty much all day, we went to an indoor play centre, which was very pleasant.

After lunch, still quite warm and still no sign of rain, we walked down to the Country Park to throw stones in the river, the Flumlet choosing ever bigger stones and giving them to Grandad to throw in. Those he threw in himself attracted the attention of a dog, which dived in after them, making huge splashes, to the wee one's great delight (see extra1).

Back at base we noticed a pair of ladybirds on the car that we didn't recognise, I believe these to be Orange 16-spot (Halyzia 16-guttata), and I can report the sighting on this ladybird survey as it seems they are not common here.

And the rain? Buckets of it, with thunder and lightning, but not until after 8pm, when the Flumlet was fast asleep in bed!
