Hidcote Manor

What a wonderful visit l had this morning to Hidcote.  I had not been there for years and was pleasantly surprised at the gardens.  The last time l had missed the rose season and found the borders to be weedy and untidy but that was later in the year.  l loved the shade of the cedar tree .. the searing heat from the sun totally blocked out underneath it.. bliss.
l have just decided to turn off the Aga today.. a tough decision as it is the only cooker l have but l cannot live with the heat it is producing.  Unfortunately having tripped the switch l heard the weeks forecast and no doubt will be regretting my decision by the weekend!!!  How typical.. ah well, done now.
Happy Solstice  34 degrees and holding!  l am wilting even though it is after 10pm!!
