Midsummer Madness

The hot weather beat us today and we stopped after 10 miles and caught a bus so we only walked from Croyde to Velator. When we return next week for the next section, we will catch the bus and do the missed section together with the intended section. Walking along a while dusty road for a long way across Braunton Burrows was punishing and hard. Our shoulders were aching carrying our rucksacks. It was my idea to stop, we caught the bus and the hourly train was at the station with 3 minutes to go before it left so no time to pick up a cold drink. This was the view as we left Croyde behind us and was where we walked for a paddle last night, it was a long way across the dunes and the mudflats..an orchid in extras, possibly a marsh orchid?
