Croome Court

We went Croome Court today and met Chris and Jean, plus their dog Pudding.  The weather was more comfortable for walking and we had a nice stroll past the Orangery and by the river.  The grounds were covered with wild flowers where they have allowed to become very attractive meadows.

After lunch back a the NAAFI canteen, Croome being part of a airfield during the second world war, we walked down to the house and had a look round the work in progress of the mammoth job of restoring the building back to its former grandeur, most of the contents having been sold by previous ancestors to pay off gambling debts.

This much photographed bridge is close by the house.
