A Blast Into the Past

20 of us from the daycare that Merrick goes to went to a history center today. Crossroads Village is a collection of old buildings from our area that were probably going to be torn down. Instead, they are being rebuilt with the idea of educating both children and adults.

Sort of clockwise...Merrick at a desk in an old railcar, Merrick in an old barber chair, a case of "Bad Grandpa" letting Merrick hang from the chandelier (don't worry...it's photo-shopped), a ride on a carousel that was built in 1912, a fiddler that serenaded us with The Battle Hymn of the Republic, the conductor of the train we rode (nice mustache, eh?), and a group shot of most of our kids watching logs being turned into lumber.

It was a nice day, although it turned out to be pretty warm (90F, 30C.) My daughter Karen and I tagged along to help the teachers chaperone the kids.
