Departure

A last look at the pool from the garden gate. We left for Venice On 16th of May and today we leave Lenno for the return to Aberdeen. Sad to be leaving. KLM have changed the timing of our flight from Linate so we will have to stay a night in a hotel near the airport. It does mean we have a more leisurely departure than we did in the past.

The hotel was a bit of a disappointment, very understaffed with one man serving both the restaurant and the bar. At one point there was a row in the dining room between him and the guide accompanying a group of German tourists. People in the bar a bit disgruntled because they could not get served.

Having dropped our baggage at the hotel I struggled to find the right road to get to the airport to drop off the car. I found myself forced into a bus lane at one point. Anyway got the car delivered finally and took a taxi back to the hotel for a pre dinner beer, only to find the bar was not yet open as the one and only waiter was setting up the dining room!

Hope the flowers in the garden will survive until our return as it is unlikely anyone will water them.
