Finally heading to Nord2017

We first heard about the 2017 Norwegian Scout Jamboree back in January 2017 after the Australian Scout Jamboree. In those fleeting care free days, I talked about travelling with Miss C to enjoy the delights that I remember of working in Norway back in 1995. But that wasn't to be.

Being the amazing and courageous young lady that she is, she decided to go despite all the sad chaos of a terminally sick father. She then inspired 6 others to join her plus a leader too from our troop.
So today was Departure day.

Thank goodness really, she has been sucking all the energy into her own petsonal vortex for a few days now! That said, there's been no dramas, hissy fits or tantrums - just a building sense of happiness, anticipation and excitement.
I am exhausted, sewing many badges onto an old army blanket, attaching countless name labels to clothing and ensuring that we hadn't forgotten any thing.

I know that it will be worth every cent of saving and fundraising.

Week 1 is an chance to stay with a family in Oslo, to experience living as Norwegians and building tbe team as tbey explore Oslo.

Week 2 they travel to Bodø for the Jamboree. This is in the Artic Circle, so the sun won't be setting on their fun.

Week 3 the Aussie Contingent travels back to Oslo sampling the best tourist experiences on offer.

What a trip it will be!
