elephant hawk moth caterpillar

Found this in the garden - only one, but had to show you the two pairs of 'eye' markings.

Really creepy looking - maybe because the 'eyes' don't move *shudder*

Apparently the moth will be olive green and pink.

in the 60s my granddad called hawk moths 'bob owlers'
