Train

Today we got a train from Turin to Paris, Paris to London, and then London to home. A total of 13 hours of travelling, compared to 2 hours on the plane. The first journey was worth it though, just for the views of the Alps and little mountain towns in Northern Italy and just over the border in France. The train stops in each place for a few minutes and you don't even leave your seat, but it still feels like you have had a brief glimpse into a new place (many of which I want to return to even though I don't know anything about them).

Paris was 38 degrees and our plans to use our three hours there to visit a nice restaurant were blocked by the fact that the French don't do a lot of vegan food. My mum suggested she could just push the meat and cheese to one side, but I pointed out that that would likely just leave her with some garnish.
