The ruins of Ravensneuk Castle

We once again climbed the ridge in Penicuik Estate and this time made our way to the ruins of Ravensneuk Castle. The castle had a commanding position looking out over the valley of the North Esk River and the Pentland Hills when it was build in 1527 but little remains of it. The remaining stones though give an idea of how impressive it must have been. This is my contribution to the Derelict Sunday challenge today. You can see more pictures on my blog.
