Ambleside Boats

After another hearty breakfast our fab little hotel - we set off on the trek home.

We decided to drive the 'scenic' route via Hardknott and Wrynose passes - a spectacular drive if ever you want to test out the clutch and brakes on your car. We stopped in Ambleside for a cup of tea and then headed out across Hookstone pass - not quite as severe as the earlier passes, but spectacular none the less.

Driving along the edge of Ullswater we drove through Pooley Bridge to Penrith and to the A66.

Called in to MIL in Darlington for more tea - then home again down the A1.

My Fitbit only registered just over 5000 steps - so I went out for a walk to ensure my run of consecutive days over 10,000 steps was maintained..now standing at 73.

I made a Thai green curry for tea - with cauliflower / coconut 'rice' which was helped down by a few welcome beers.

Seriously behind with reading / commenting now - thanks for all the comments / faves whilst I have been away.
