Wanderings & Witterings

Tyne

Friends and I have been walking various parts of the John Muir Way over the past few years. Just six or eight miles at a time, but it has provided us with an excuse to get out walking and, more importantly, just meeting up and having a blether, with coffee and / or drinks at the start or end (or both) of each day.

Saturday was one such day. Meeting in Edinburgh, we took the train down to Dunbar and then the bus to East Linton. A stop for lunch (of the coffee kind!) then the 13km walk along the John Muir Way back to Dunbar, arriving just in time to catch the train back to Edinburgh. It has to be said that we cut it rather fine and that last couple of kilometers was walked at almost 'route march' pace! (It was another two hours before the next train back, so we didn't want to miss this one, especially since the husband of one of my friends had planned a barbecue for our return.)

Lots of chat, and a fair number of photos too. This one was by the River Tyne, just east of East Linton.
