What a Wonderful World

It was so beautiful here on Sunday that it almost felt like we'd gone someplace else!

Blue skies. Puffy white clouds. Sunny but not too hot. Low humidity. A perfect slice of mid-September: life the way you always wished it might be.

The swimming areas at the state parks close at the end of this weekend, so we seized the day and went swimming. Wednesday we had already done our last swim at Whipple Dam. So on this day, we headed to Bald Eagle State Park for our last swim there.

So we swam and then we sat in the sun and read our books and enjoyed the day. It just felt good to be alive; it made me want to sing. These were a few of the words that came to mind . . .

"I see skies of blue . . . clouds of white,
Bright blessed days . . . dark sacred nights,
And I think to myself . . . what a wonderful world."

- Louis Armstrong, What a Wonderful World (listen to the song on YouTube)
