Oleander
Mondays take their toll. And then some.
When I'm positively stressed* I hear music and when I'm negatively stressed I hear nothing but the grinding gears of my tinnitus.
Today I heard music - this is the song that I heard to start off today's madness.
Ok I'm an anagram of 25 but that feeling of "What's going on?" is still valid.
However that video on YouTube led to this, which is kitsch (wait until it goes disco, you'll see what I mean).
And that led to me finding this - which just goes to show that there is more to Punjabi dancing than the "screw a lightbulb in, pat the dog" moves but it's still hugely kitsch. And lots of fun.
Seeing the replicating singers reminded me of one of the most bonkers films I've ever seen - and if you like bonkers, you have to see the end of Endhiran (turn the volume down, it's a Russian dubbing over a Tamil film and it's even weirder than the film).
I started wondering how things could odder. I didn't have long to wait. I suspect that a lot of (non-German) people have this kind of view of German music. We're actually (I include myself in that "we") much more inclusive.
All of which should serve to show you that Mondays mess with my head. And if you watched all of the links, I'm sorry but I do hope you laughed at least once.
*Stress in English has mostly negative connotations - stressed out and distressed. There is a lovely German word "Eustress" (pronounced "Oy-Schtress") that means a positive kind of stress. The sort of stress that you can enjoy and although there's pressure, you can use it.
