The Meeting House

An absolutely perfect day with clear blue skies and bright sunshine and low humidity.  We strolled down to the Rose Kennedy Greenway to look at a recent art installation there called "The Meeting House".  It's a rather startling sight to behold -- a little yellow Colonial style cottage which appears to be sinking at a precarious angle into the earth.  According to the artist Mark Reigelman, "the small, house-like structure is a reminder of the thousands of displaced residents and demolished homes that resulted from the city’s elevated highway infrastructure project.”  It’s a part of the Greenway’s Playful Perspectives series, which seeks to inject playfulness and curiosity into everyday life.

Afterwards, we continued on along the Greenway until we got to Rowe's Wharf, where we ate a delicious lunch (see extra) outside on the waterfront at the Sea Grille.
