A Sunday Walk

B and I joined the ‘Recycled Teenagers’ group today for a three-mile circular walk, which took in Baconsthorpe Castle and Bodham Church, which you can see in the ‘selfie’ background as an extra.
It was a very gloomy day and looked as if it was going to rain, but never did.  Perfect weather for walking though.
Baconsthorpe Castle is actually the remains of a fortified Tudor manor house.  Work started in the 1450s by John Heydon.  A licence to fortify the property was granted in 1561 and the outer gatehouse dates from this period.  The house began to fall into decline in the 17th century.
