It has to be a Yacht

All New Zealanders are very proud of our yachties for winning the Americas Cup yacht race this morning.  The last race started in Bermuda, just after 5 a.m. with many people either watching their TV or going to a Yacht club to watch the exciting racing.  Not me, I slept through it all, and found out we had won when I got up this morning.  Because everyone is talking yachting today, I was pleased that some yachties were out in the very calm conditions so I could blip them.

I went to morning tea with the church ladies, and a nice walk along the lake front this afternoon.  (9467 or 6 k's).

Blip No. 1946.

Family news 1946.  I started school at Horotiu Primary.  My dad survived a heart attack, (aged 51), so we moved to live in Raglan for 6 months while he recuperated.  While there I attended the Raglan Primary School, (extra 1).  Not too far away from our house were some  interesting shaped outcrops, which we called The Doughboys'.  (extra 2).  (Sadly they are no longer there).
