Stockholm City Hall

We walked about city hall (Stadshuset), visited the public WC and the gift shop where we bought our first tourist trinket, a Dalecarlian or Dala horse.

From a distance I thought the city hall tower uninteresting and out of proportion compared to the rest of the building. The building is much more interesting when seen from within. Although we did not take a tour of city hall or the tower.

"Architecturally Stockholm's City Hall is one of Sweden's foremost examples of "national romanticism". After twelve years of construction overseen by architect Ragnar Östberg, the building was inaugurated on Midsummer's Eve in 1923." (source: City of Stockholm website)

Windy today. But we walked a short distance along the water on Kungsholmen where we saw one sunken boat and several historic boats moored along the quay.
