Atlantic Rower

This morning at U3A we had a talk by this lady called Rachel Smith. She told us all about how she and her friend Lin rowed across the Atlantic from East to West in their (large) rowing boat raising a lot of money for Breast Cancer Care. They had such adventures in storms and giant waves and even capsized. They rowed two hours on and two hours off continually, getting soaked continually for the 76 days of the journey.

They hold the Guiness World Record for the fastest all female UK team of two to row the Atlantic. Two very brave young ladies!
