When I joined him a wee bit later it became apparent that the slightly weird look to the frame was derived from it missing a bit around the wee platform in the middle. I have a picture of it for eventual reporting to the council, along with various pictures of hogweed in public places, which shall require a dedicated half-day hour of Fix My Street after uploading this.
