An Avid Lensman

Tripod Comes out

With the darker evenings, now, I thought I'd get my nice Manfrotto carbon fibre tripod out of hibernation. With ever increasing top iso speeds on DSLR's, we bother with them less and less.

Finding a Tiffen 0.9 Neutral Density filter, which reduces light by 3 stops and my Nikkor 17-35mm f2.8, on the full-frame D700, I went to this roundabout on the local ring-road. Set the tripod up on the start of a spiral walkway to an overpass and it starting raining!

So, this is about the best of the few I took and I know what to do when I go back. This'll be when twilight meets rush-hour and then there'll be much more traffic to build up the light trails.
