Girls' Day Out

There's nothing like a trip to the nail spa for pedicures to kick off a girls' day of pedicures, coffee, shopping and lunch. OilMan was going to join us for lunch but a sudden lack of hot water (why do these things always happen when we have house guests?) necessitated his remaining at home to call the plumber.

With our newly painted toes we took ourselves off to The Barlow in Sebastopol, a group of packing sheds which have been repurposed into trendy shops. One of them,  a clothing boutique called Tamarind, is always on our list when Annie visits. Today she was able to tell Genevieve, the young woman who works there some good places to visit on her upcoming trip to Italy. We all made purchases and left happy with them.

There is a good restaurant called Vignette nearby which serves pizza and salads and we had just enough time to enjoy lunch there before it was time to take Emma and Annie to the airport.

Sonoma County Airport is one of the few airports I really don't mind going to because it is only 20 minutes away, can be reached without going on the often crowded freeway and is small and low key.

I arrived back home to find OilMan attempting to fix the water heater himself. He didn't succeed, but he needn't have stayed home all day because the plumber isn't coming until tomorrow morning. In light of the way we decided to spend our day, I don't think he regretted his decision to stay home....

The extra is my annual shot of Emma and Annie. We hope to see them later in the summer at their condo in Solana Beach
