Gabalfa

Des i adre drwy Abalfa heddiw.  Pan ro'n i'n ifanc, mae arfer bod rheilffordd yna, ond nawr mae trosffordd, a chyffordd brysur gyda llawer o geir. Mae cae yna hefyd gydag ardal chwarae plant, a rhai o lwyni lle drain yn tyfu. Mae'r enw 'Gabalfa' yn dod o 'Ceubalfa', lle'r cwch' oherwydd roedd arfer bod fferi dros y Taf yna.

I came home through Gabalfa today. When I was young, there used to be a railway, but now there's a flyover, and a busy junction with lots of cars. There is also a field with a children's play area, and some bushes where brambles grow. The name 'Gabalfa' comes from 'Ceubalfa', the place of the  boat', because there used to be a ferry over the Taff then.
