The last figure by sculptor Antony Gormley in his series 6 Times was actually the first to be installed, here on an abandoned jetty. The artwork consists of six figures placed at intervals along the Water Of Leith between the Gallery of Modern Art and the coast.

This figure is quoted as 'gazing out to sea' whereas actually it faces a buoy in the deep water harbour through which all the docks are accessed. At present the water is particularly turbid, following the recent rainfall, and choppy on account of the wind, which, being made of iron. will not be of the slightest interest to him.
